What’s on the Red Vial?

Nov 20, 2011 | 4 comments

Wondering what is Nina Sharp injecting Olivia with? Wonder no more. It is indeed, none other than:

The question is WHY? And how long had been Nina dosing Olivia with Cortexiphan? And if it is even related to her migraine? If you have an answer, why not join in the TWINGE QUESTION of the week. Make sure – don’t forget the #TFPTWINGE

Of course, by posting this, I just invalidated my Twinge answer. But seriously, I have crazier theory, which hopefully won’t get invalidated in the feedback podcast.

I wonder why the writers chose ‘red color’ for Cortexiphan. Recalling back S1, it supposed to be yellow. But now, in Jacksonville and in Wallflower, it is red. Could it be that the yellow color is for kids, while the red color is like a boost of Cortexiphan level in the brain of “older” Olivia? Hmm… Of course, red could just signify Cortexiphan able to cross over to the REDverse. AND of course, RED is one of the color of Green-Green-Green-Red.

Has Nina found out the significance of Cortexiphan in the blue universe? I am certain Peter has been thoroughly interrogated over the last several weeks and the effects of Cortexiphan on blue Olivia may have come to the attention of Massive Dynamics and Nina.

The Cortexiphan trials in the amber timeline appear to have have been shorter and possibly used a significantly lower dosage. Without the fear of Peter being taken back to the Red universe Walter did not have near the paranoia in the amber timeline.

Nina may be belatedly trying to spark the powers latent in Ambervia (amber Olivia) now that she is aware of what they are. This may be the old ‘soldier in the war between universes’ ploy. Or it may be for some other nefarious plot.

Nina’s end game has always been hidden, in both blue and now the amber universe. And her red universe doppleganger has yet to show her face (if she even exists).

I am going to take a WAG here. Nina is part of the alien presence sent to make sure that Walter’s blunder into the redverse only has localized destruction of the two universes. I think their original goal is to stop it at its source, but if it fails their, plan B is to limit the destruction to Earth or the solar system.

If this is the case, Nina may be human and merely be an agent. Or she may be an alien in human disguise. Or she may be under forceful control by aliens.

If she was an alien from the beginning, she did a woefully poor job of stopping Walter from crossing over in the 1980’s. But if she was taken over, that artificial arm just might be how they control her.

She must have been doing this far longer than since peter came back. Olivia is at the Last Refill of migraine meds… which means nina has been doing this secretly for a while now…

Which is why I’ve thought the 1980s New Timeline Nina took advantage of Olivia running off from the trials (with no peter to stop her) and being “orphaned”, and has been monitoring this stuff all along… NEFARIOUSLY doing experiments on Olivia ALL ALONG!!

    ALL ALONG!!!!

Befriending/mothering her with these hidden motives!

Also, wasn’t the Cortexiphan red in the reverse because it was synthesized from the Cortexiphan in Liv’s blood?

ALSO, ALSO, It could be a newer tweaked form Cortexiphan

Entertaining thought but if any of you remember what the men that were with Nina said that she wont remember anything from the previous two hours, and that when she gets up she going to have a hell of a night. Also in the episode in season two i think, wasn’t the cortexiphan red?
And also could Massive dynamic be behind the restoration of the other Cortexiphan children from previous seasons,. Just some thoughts

its quite simple really Nina took advantage of a situation, shes been dosing Olivia with small amounts of cortexiphan since she was 14, cause thats when her mom died, but despite that i think that Nina really does care for Olivia. She did in the blue verse and she does now, i think that this may have started out as an assignment but became something more, 🙂 in true fringe style
