Peter’s Use (and Misuse)

Let me share you my insight on the cliffhanger of the recent episode “Back to where you’ve never been”.

So, The Observer showing up in the Orpheum Theatre, wounded and telling new timeline Olivia that he sees all possible future and she is going to die. This led me to think that The Observer, from the start, intended to find a way for Olivia to live and Peter happens to be one of his biggest pawn in the game.

Peter went to the machine. We are led to believe that by doing this, the mistake made more than 20 years ago by The Observer will be fixed (erased him from the timeline + create a bridge to the two universes). However, Peter’s main motivation is NOT really to do those things. He went in and saw the future at 2026, and what triggered him to go and use the machine in 2026? Yes – Olivia’s headshot. Her death. Her funeral. Did The Observer manipulate Peter into that kind of situation – because he, himself, wanted to save Olivia?

Which then makes you wonder – did The Observer not flick the switch to erase Peter because simply he saw a possible future that with Peter around in this new timeline Olivia is alive……… but again, he was wrong. Again, makes you think, does The Observer play a role in ensuring that Peter get stuck in this new timeline in an attempt to save Olivia?

Let’s go back more than 20 years ago. The Observer messing up Walternate’s experiment. He admitted it was his fault. But has anyone ever wondered if he did this on purpose? Because he is attached to Olivia and such action would create a possible future of living Olivia?

For the past 3 years, we always see the moments of The Observer manipulating circumstances for Walter and Peter but it seems that they could just be used in hope of making Olivia immortal… but wait, why the cortexiphan-treated Olivia? What’s so special about her?

*Rewind to August episode*

“I saw her many years ago. She was a child. Her parents had just been killed. She was crying. But she… she was brave. She crossed my mind… Somehow, she never left it. I think… it’s what they call… feelings. I think… I love her. Will she be safe now?” – August

Did The Observer learn from his pal August in the car… that somehow, by sacrificing himself, because he has feelings for Olivia – could make her important, make her immortal?

Will Olivia be immortal? In fact, I think Peter is immortal – he is able to cross universes, cross timelines, see the future, go back to the past then into the present…. has the interference of The Observer into Olivia’s life reduced her chances of living – and in fact, “transferred” this ability to the boy who should not exist – Peter?

that makes real sense. but maybe blonde olivia is supposed to die for a reason – so peter and ginger olivia can make the baby they were supposed to make, henry. what if henry is the real immortal.

The Real question of this theory isn’t who is the immortal, but who is it that September loves because although it seems obvious to be Olivia, could it actually be Henry, or another person involved.
