Peerless Prognostication Time!

Sep 18, 2011 | 24 comments

OK people, it is peerless prognostication time.  Yes, its that time of year where we can all make our predictions for the upcoming season of Fringe.  And let’s be a little wacky here.  How about we all go out on a limb and come up with some far out ideas?

Don’t play it safe (Olivia wouldn’t!) I want to hear what all think is going to happen in season 4 of Fringe.  Not just what you wish or suspect.  But a flat out bold prediction.

If you listened to the last Fringe Podcast edition you heard what Darrell and Clint thought.  For myself,  I am already on record for predicting Peter being in a universe of his own creation.  Devoid of people but containing all the  artifacts from the Blue universe.  Complete with the “Machine” and the view screen Walter built so he can watch the universe he left.

What’s your call?  Be brave.  The more far out the better!

Ok, here is my BOLD prediction – Peter’s consciousness will be housed in the Feral Boy’s mind from Season 1’s Inner Child by the September.

Wow, if that comes true they may give you an Emmy! Good one, I like the bold spirit.

Ok Olivia hears the shower and goes in there and opens the door. There is Peter it was all a dream.

Peter is looking in a snow globe… no not that either

but I do think that there are lots of false memories happening.
Maybe Peter is in the hospital and all of the brain pieces taken out of other peoples heads are being put into his head.

That is suitably crazy Shirley and it sounds great. Maybe they will insert a shape-shifter chip too!

And an autistic Peter is staring into the snow globe? Nope. That is a series ender and Fringe will go on!

Henry will return in one way or another. He may return with Peter.

What happened in Detroit will become the major arc this season and will be resolved in the season finale. Peter’s knowledge of this will only be marginally helpful — and may send them on a major goose-chase.

The feral child will show up as a full grown apprentice Observer — possibly August’s replacement.

Astrid is too nice to be human. She is not. She is an alien tasked with ensuring that the destruction of the universes is fix or at least does not go beyond the red & blue planets Earth. Their moral code will not let them overtly show themselves or directly interfere. But when push comes to shove, she might. (This might not be a season 4 reveal).

We will learn a lot more about the Observers this season.

Well, I can’t wait to see what Alien Astrid looks like; something like the lizard people of the “V” TV series? And hopefully when Henry brings Peter back it will be in a Delorean taxi. (1.21 gigawatts of power!) I like your Detroit angle, I’ve been thinking of that as well. Good luck with your far out theory and thanks for the reply.

Okay! Fringe has often veered into spirituality within science, so I’m going with the Peter will be “dead” for three episodes and will show himself in the fourth show.

But the big reveal this season is that Walter IS God.

William Bell is the Devil, a fallen angel, once Walter’s friend. Bell is a one-time ally who removed parts of Walter’s brain and has hobbled him — temporarily — in order to achieve his ends, which include the creation of life. (Step 1: Create a “live” prosthetic arm. Step 2: Create hybrid soldiers who can “feel” human emotions. Step 3…)

Bell was the first to cross over. Bell was the cause of the damage to the other side. Bell was brilliant, duplicitous and would stop at nothing to achieve his ends — damaging the Earth and even possessing people (Bellivia!) and Bell is not gone. He is Walter’s nemesis, though Walter is too damaged to realize it.

With the help of his son, Peter, who Walter sacrificed, and Olivia, an agent of peace (the Christian concept of the Holy Spirit is often depicted as a dove carrying an olive branch), Walter will reclaim his brilliance and heal the world.

I don’t trust William Bell. And I’ve written before that always thought it’s interesting that Walter looks outwardly to God for forgiveness, when really, he needs to forgive himself.

If this season is the last for our beloved show (hope not!) I’m going way, WAY, WAAAY out on a limb and call this as the end game.

Wow Trish, to borrow a phrase from Star Trek you’re, “going where no one has gone before”. Pretty awesome scenario. It sounds like you’ve brushing up on your “Paradise Lost”. You’ve thrown down the gauntlet to the Fringe writing staff let’s see if they pick up your challenge. (BTW, just in case, see you in church!)

Peter has ascended to a higher plane and will somehow guide both universes to separation that allows each to exist. One verse will become much more spiritual with people learning to transcend attatchment. The other return to more primitive conditions after the majority of the population die. The souls (of the blue and red individuals) will reunite in the higher plane and create A Yellow verse if you will that brings mankind beyond the imaginable. Only Peter and Olivia will remember how it was before.

      Well said.

I’m worried though that the knowledge that Peter and Olivia possess might prevent their transcendence.

Walter will finally right that great injustice that he has done and bring balance…..he’ll stop refering to his favorite drink as a strawbeery milkshake and start calling it a strawberry frappe!

Ken, you just outed yourself from being around the SE Mass or Rhode Island area. Well done sir. Walter should know better.

With our world and the alternate world teaming up, they’ll need a third “bad guy” world fight united against. Enter these new shape shifters…

The new shape shifters are from a third alternate universe, even more divergent, ecologically damaged and technically superior than ours or the Zeppelin universe.

For this season’s finale, I see them aligned with us and the Zeppelin-verse against the newest interlopers….shape shifting Velociraptors!

Maybe Mr. X is the ringleader of the new translucent shape-shifters and Olivia (in the previous timeline) had a precognition about him. If your scenario is to come true Olivia better study up on her Jurassic park!
