In the last 7-10 days there have been numerous occasions when I felt like I’m in an alternate universe. Ordinary every-day things seem to have changed without warning and I was the only one who was surprised by the sudden differences. All this craziness naturally led me to Fringe, and specifically to a theory I once heard (on this very podcast, I think): What if the universes switched? What if all the people from the blueverse were transported to the redverse and vice versa?
Looking at the events of The Last Sam Weiss, this is probably not going to happen. But wouldn’t it be great to see all the characters cope with the sudden changes and small details that are so different? New Yorkers would see the Twins again. People would have to use zeppelins for travel (although I’m convinced that planes exist over there too). Walter couldn’t use his lab because it’s in amber. The FBI would have to deal with fringe events. And so on. How would this change the show and how would the characters react to a new world?
And how would you survive without coffee and ballpoint pens?
I was wondering on a similar thing… not specifically people switching universe, but rather if Walternate’s plan happened… the other side experienced a better life, while the blueverse experienced the harsh environment.
It will be a very interesting thing to see, how the people cope to this sudden change of their environment.
If this happened after I woke up, I would think I was dreaming. If it happened while I was awake, I would most likely have a panic attack and say “WTF is going on here”.
And then I would jump on a zeppelin cause I’ve done that. —- But no Coffee?!?!?!?! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
